How your data maps

jubsync syncs one way, from Jobber into HubSpot. Your Jobber clients become HubSpot Contacts, and your quotes and jobs become HubSpot Deals. Changes you make in HubSpot are never pushed back to Jobber.

Clients → Contacts

Each Jobber client is matched to a HubSpot contact by email address. If a contact with that email already exists, it's updated rather than duplicated.

JobberHubSpot contact
First & last nameFirst name / Last name
Primary emailEmail (used to match & deduplicate)
Primary phonePhone number
Company nameCompany name
Billing addressStreet address, city, state, postal code
Lead vs. active clientLifecycle stage (Lead or Customer)

For commercial clients with no personal contact name, the company name is used as the contact's display name so the record isn't blank.

Clients without an email address in Jobber can't be matched, so they may create separate records. Adding an email in Jobber keeps your contacts deduplicated.

Quotes & Jobs → Deals

Both quotes and jobs become Deals on your default HubSpot pipeline. A property on each deal records whether it came from a quote or a job. The deal's stage reflects the status in Jobber:

HubSpot's Close date field is repurposed here to record when the quote or job was created in Jobber, including the time of day. It is not left blank while a quote is still in Draft.

jubsync creates the In Negotiation and Approved - Pending Job stages on your pipeline during setup; Closed Won and Closed Lost use your HubSpot pipeline's existing closed stages.

Jobber properties added to HubSpot

So you can identify and report on synced records, jubsync adds a few custom properties to your HubSpot portal during setup.

On contacts

  • Jobber Client ID — the underlying Jobber client reference.
  • Jobber Client URL — a direct link to the client in Jobber.
  • Jobber Duplicate Clients — links to other Jobber clients that share the same email, if any.
  • Jobber Last Synced — when the record was last updated by the sync.

On deals

  • Jobber Source — whether the deal came from a quote or a job.
  • Jobber Quote ID / Jobber Job ID — the source record's reference.
  • Jobber Job Number, Jobber Job Status, Jobber Job Completed At — extra detail for deals that come from jobs.
  • Jobber Last Synced — when the deal was last updated by the sync.

These properties are safe to use in HubSpot lists, views, and reports. Editing them by hand isn't recommended, since the next sync will overwrite them from Jobber.
